frequently asked questions

Can you post about XYZ? Why haven't you posted about ABC?
The reason why I haven't posted about something in the news is likely because either A) I don't feel as though I am educated enough to talk about it myself and therefore am boosting people who I know are educated on the topic or B) I'm already working on something relating to it and just haven't finished it yet! With that said, feel free to dm me with any post ideas that you have or that any topics you want to see me speak about and I'll put them on my miles long notes app list.
Can we work on a post together?
Sure! For collaborations, go to the contact me page! If it's something I'm interested in and have the time to work on, I'll let you know!
Can I interview you for XYZ?
Sure! Again, contact me!
Are you available to do custom designs? Can I pay you to design something for me?
Yes! As you might be able to guess, contact me! I am available for commissions of any kind for the most part. I prioritize commissions from BIPOC. You can find more information on commissions by going to this page.
Are you a Zionist?
No.
How can I support your work?
You can help to boost the Instagram algorithm by saving my images, commenting on them, and reposting them to your story. If you're looking for ways to support me financially, you can by purchasing some of my designs on Redbubble where not 100% of the aid is going to a mutual aid or organization. I have a Patreon but I've removed it from this website for the time being, as it is currently inactive.
What font do you use in your posts?
For the most part, you're seeing my own handwriting. On research posts (as of recently), I've been using 'Mix Serif', 'Made Gentle', or 'Popins' for textual content.

Safe Haven? Thoughts on Israel and Jewish SafetyZionism is the antithesis of Jewish safety. Under the myth that Jews are safest in Israel, our safety is dependent on the disposession and oppression of another people.I’ve heard plenty of American Jewish people in the past say that they have an escape plan involving aliyah (Jewish immigration to Israel) if things ever get especially bad here. Ignoring the ethical issue with migrating to stolen, settled land that natives are unable to access, what makes a Jew feel safe about being there? Some things to ponder:✿ The U.S. supports Israel because it’s an imperialistic military asset in the region. If U.S. aspirations/alliances change and funding leaves, the security of the entire country is at risk. It already is, even with the billions of taxpayer money sent there. Israel’s security is balanced on foreign aid and the ability to subjugate Palestinians without impunity. If foreign interest leaves, so does the protection that accompanies it.✿ Are the people ‘supporting Israel’ doing it because they care about Jewish lives? Or are they doing it because they have interests in that region that they can pursue through Israel? For example, if they’re Evangelical, do they believe Armageddon will take place when all Jews live in Israel? Protection in the state of Israel is 100% conditional and dependent on other powers.✿ The position of Israel as an occupier guarantees the existence of violent resistance at all times. Furthermore, Israel benefits from maintaning the status quo under a state of violence. Meanwhile, the conflation of zionism with Judaism places not only Jews in Israel at risk, but also Jews in the diaspora.✿ The idea of putting all of the world’s Jewry in one confined place makes no sense. While acknowledging the cultural appeal/connection to our ‘homeland’ that people desire - has a Jewish state in Eretz Yisrael ever purported to offer a guarantee of safety? If people want to kill Jews on a mass scale, their best bet is going to Israel.Whenever a death occurs in Israel - no matter the reason, Israel uses it to legitimatize military aspects of the occupation. It gains sympathy from world leaders that reaffirm Israel’s ‘right to defense’ and pour even more money and resources into Israel to be used against Palestinians. All of the Israelis who were killed last week were viewed in the media as civilians, and all of the Palestinians killed were viewed as terrorists. Israel simultaneously creates (and gains power off of) Jewish suffering and then uses it to validate its subjugation of Palestinians.Of course, some people didn’t have a choice when making aliyah. Holocaust survivors, Mizrahi refugees, etc. This post is not at all a denial of that. Rather, it’s talking about how Israel is viewed as this safe haven for us Jews abroad, but more Jewish deaths occur there than anywhere else, and our communal grief is manipulated to garner support for state violence.Greenwashing: The Myth of Israel as a Green DemocracyChaim Weizmann, first president of Israel: “It seems as if G-d had
covered the soil of Palestine with rocks and marshes and sand, so that its beauty can only be brought out by those who love it and will devote their lives to healing its wounds”
Much of zionist propaganda involves disguising colonialist activity behind a green image. To those who did not know of the people already living in Palestine, zionists pressed the narrative that the land of Palestine was a land without a people and the Jews were a people without a land. To those who did know of the Palestinians already inhabiting the land, zionists pressed the narrative that their agricultural technology was superior to that of the Palestinians and that they were “making the desert bloom” as a justification for the establishment of the state. Not only does this diminish the tragedy of the nakba by claiming Palestine was an uninhabited desert, but it also attempts to diminish the sovereignty of Palestinian people by arguing a stronger claim to the land due to agricultural superiority. In regards to the validity of these narratives*
1/ The land of Palestine was most certainly inhabited by Palestinians AND
2/ The area within what became Israel actually being farmed by Palestinians in 1947 was greater than the physical area which was under cultivation in Israel almost thirty years later
3/ the property abandoned by Palestinian refugees during the Nakba heavily contributed to Israel’s economy, valuing an estimated 3 billion dollars in 1948
4/ No agricultural achievement justifies the ethnic cleansing of a people
see ‘Making the Desert Bloom’ a Myth Explained for statistics supporting the aboveTo this day, these ecoimperialist ideas are promoted. The technology of drip irrigation and solar energy are endorsed by Israel, which is a form of greenwashing.Greenwashing: acting environmentally friendly while concealing practices of environmental harm and criminal activityHowever, not only does this dismiss centuries old sustainable Palestinian agricultural practices, but this technology is not extended to Palestinians, who are more vulnerable to climate change because of it. Gaza is nearing unlivable, with a leading source of death being related to its water crisis. Israel was in the news in 2019 for a partnership between one of its water startups and Michigan’s governor (home of Flint Michigan which has a highly publicized water crisis), yet at the same time that Israel is helping out Flint Michigan, Israel is severely restricting the movement of goods into Gaza through the Kerem Shalom crossing, including the necessary materials for water infrastructure.* The unequal distribution of resources furthers the state of apartheid.*See the Rand Corporation report for more specific details on the restrictions of movement into Gaza“Making the desert bloom” became the slogan of the Jewish National Fund (JNF). The JNF states that it has planted over 250 million European pinera and eucalyptus trees. Their forests are strategically planted on the ruins of Palestinian villages in order to erase Palestinian existence on the land. Furthermore, their constitution directly states that their land cannot be rented, leased, sold to or worked by non-Jews. This means that the land owned by the JNF, in accordance with the forests planted by the JNF, are done to prevent Palestinians from returning to their homes.More than anything in regards to the environment (despite their attempts at greenwashing it), Israel along with organizations like the JNF exploit the resources of Palestine. Since 1967, Israel has uprooted over 800,000 olive trees and replaced them with non native plants. These foreign plants demand much more water than native plants which causes droughts. These trees are also more vulnerable to fire because of their resins, which explains the increase in forest fires where they’ve been planted. Furthermore, 95% of the forests of Gaza have disappeared between 1971 and 1999 due to the spread of military bases and settlements. This has led to large biodiversity loss from the animals whose habitats have been destroyed. The construction of the apartheid wall removed lots of natural vegetation for wild animals.Israel’s green image is but a facade to hide environmental policy done specifically to erase indigenity without a thought for the actual land.As climate change continues to get worse, inequalities will grow larger as Palestinians get hit harder with the issues. do not forget about the importance of centering indigenous voices, including Palestinians, when it comes to conversations about the climate.Sources:

Evangelical Zionists
Evangelicals are the primary supporters of Israel in America, not Jews.
In fact, there are more Christian Zionists than there are Jews in the world.
Why?
The Protestant fundamentalist theory of dispensationalism views history as a series of seven events. so far, six have already occurred.
- The era of innocence before Adam’s fall
- The era of conscience from Adam to Noah
- The era of government from Noah to Abraham
- The era of patriarchy from Abraham to Moses
- The era of mosaic law from Moses to Jesus
- The era of grace from Jesus to today
And the seventh and final dispensation will be millennium, an earthly paradise. And millennium requires G-d's chosen people, the Jews, to all be living together in Israel. It is there, supposedly, that they will rebuild the temple. Then, as described in the book of revelation, Armageddon will take place and in the process 2/3 of Jews will die and the other 1/3 will accept Jesus as the messiah. Jesus will then return to Earth and will institute a millennium, beginning a thousand year reign over earth as king.A research study showed that 80% of Evangelicals believe the modern state of Israel was a fulfillment of biblical prophecy, showing we are getting closer to the return of Christ. What’s scary about this?
- A majority of Christian support for Zionism and Israel is because it will supposedly trigger the return of Christ. In order for this to happen requires for a) all diasporic Jews to return to the land, therefore displacing Palestinians and b) Jews to be either proselytized and abandon their own religion for christ or die.
What’s even scarier?
- Despite Israel claiming to represent and protect all Jews, it prioritizes the support of Evangelicals.
(Image of Ron Dermer stating that Israel should prioritize the unconditional support of Evangelicals over Jews)This represents not just the goals of Dermer but of Israel. He just ended a seven year term in January as the ambassador of Israel in Washington. He was known as the ears and brain of Netanyahu. His words are representing much more than just his thoughts.Sources:

Jews, Money, and Greed
Jews have been simultaneously depicted as money hungry pigs and leeches of society, the creators of capitalism as well as the creators of communism, for hundreds of years.
The stereotype of Jewish greed originates in the middle ages. Jews were not allowed to own land and were confined to ghettos so they could not become farmers. They could not join professional guilds so they could not become craftsmen.Christians at the time believed that usury was sinful which prevented Christians from being involved in the field of finance - thus the Jews came to dominate that field. They were even sometimes recruited to it by Christian rulers.Despite the fact that Jews were forced into these occupations, it led to the notion that Jews were unmoral and willing to engage in unethical practices. This made it incredibly easy to scapegoat Jews as a probably cause for people’s financial misery. Different literature and art of the time reflects this, Jews often depicted as money hungry and such. One example is Shylock from Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. Dozens of productions of this play were produced in Nazi Germany as machines of propaganda. This all obviously led to ideas circulating that Jews were the embodiment of greed, exploiter of the poor, source of economic hardship, etc.Meanwhile, for the other side of the trope, in 1933, an entry into the Oxford English dictionary read one of the definitions of the word Jew as ‘to cheat’. To ‘Jew down’ is a relatively common phrase today meaning to bargain something for a lower price.Studies from the ADL report that these antisemitic tropes have been internalized by the general public. Even if it’s not intentional, people often invoke greed, money hungry, stingy, etc with Jewish people.Today, Jewish figures who happen to have an excess of money are used by both sides of the political spectrum to claim Jews are responsible for global issues - George Soros for the right and the Rothschilds for the left are two examples. This entire trope just further demonstrates how antisemitism is used to push Jews into a position where they are in between the ruling class and other oppressed groups - alone and targeted by both people.Sources:

Putting Globalize the Intifada into contextRecently, the phrase 'From (X state) to Gaza, globalize the intifada' has been repeated at several Palestinian protests. This has led several Israeli advocacy groups to claim protestors are trying to encourage a global genocide of Jews, similarly to how they've claimed the phrase 'From the river to the sea' is an encouragement of Israeli ethnic cleansing (see @letstalkpalestine's post on that phrase). However, this claim distorts reality. In·ti·fa·da انتفاضةAn uprising, rebellionThe term intifada is not unique just to Palestine. In fact, there's been several events referred to as intifadas in the past century.- 1952: Iraqi Intifada against the Hashemite monarchy rule
- 1965: March Intifada against British rule in Bahrain
- 1970: Zemla Intifada against Spanish rule in Sahara
- 1984: February 6 Intifada during the Lebanese Civil War
- 1987: First Intifada against the Israeli occupation
- 2005: Second Intifada against the Israeli occupation
In almost all of these events, the uprisings are triggered by oppressive colonial or authoritarian regimes. It's not hard to notice the causation of oppression leading to uprisings and several have made comparisons between the intifadas of the MENA region and the so called 'race riots' in the USA (Notice how both of these terms used to refer to the protesting of civilians have bad connotations). And due to the belief that all oppressed people should have the right to win their liberation and that all liberation is collective, groups like Within Our Lifetime Palestine have made the claim to 'Globalize the Intifada'."Globalize the Intifada expands the terrain of struggle by creating new points of leverage for our movements based on the interconnectedness of our struggles. Although these struggles arise from our specific place in the world, the forces we are fighting against–the creditor class, the landlords, the cops, the prison industry, the teargas manufacturers, the multinational corporations, the mining companies, and the military defense complex–are all interconnected parts of the same oppressive system. So we can find points of convergence in our separate struggles when we join the dots between what is happening across the street, or ocean, and what we are doing in our own backyard. With each link, and each mobilization, we are building the collective power and relationality needed to effectively confront the tyranny of the settler state." - Within Our Lifetime PalestineSo while there may be violence and tragedy associated with the first and second intifadas, the call to globalize the intifada is not encouraging attacks like the suicide bombing at the Jerusalem Sbarro all around the world. It is a call encouraging the oppressed collective to gather and resist as one because all oppressed people's liberations are interconnected.

commission information

For Commission Inquiries
Please contact me via email ([email protected]) with COMMISSION as the subject line if you're interested in any sort of commission. I am available to create posts for your company, branding, custom designs, and just about anything else you might request. I have expertise in both graphic design and illustration. I have no set price for my services - we would negotiate pricing based on your needs and financial abilities. I guarantee to provide you with whatever you want from me at an affordable price for you. Most of my commission process is flexible but here's a few things to take note of.
- You will pay me fully in two payments, once as a deposit before I begin and then again once I have finished the commission.
- I aim to satisfy you with what I create. That means that if you don't like what I design, I will rework it. However, that also means you need to be available to approve of my designs throughout the process so that I don't get too far on something that you dislike. I ask that you ensure you'll be able to respond to my emails within 24 hours if you decide to request from me.
- I am currently working on creating a request form, but for now, when emailing me, try to be as precise as possible. Let me know exactly what it is that you want from me, down to colors, little illustrations, and whatever else you may want to add. Make sure to also inform me of your budget in the first email you send. Also send any inspiration pictures you may have.
- If you're contacting me for a post rather than a design or logo, I will not be doing the wording for you. You need to let me know the exact words that you want to be on the post.
- Check out my portfolio below! I've included mainly branding work since all of my illustration work is available for showcase on my Instagram.
This page will be updated when I have more time but for now, commissions are not my top priority. Thanks for understanding - if you want to commission me, we're going to have to work through the process together and configure it together :)
